Cape York Spotted Python
Common name: Spotted python

Scientific name: Antaresia maculosa

Other common names: none in common use, though occasionally this species is incorrectly referred to as a Children’s python.

Central Coast Spotted Python
General Description: A small brown python, the head somewhat wider than the neck. Most specimens are boldly patterned with dark dorsal and lateral blotches. The blotches tend to be irregularly-shaped and ragged-edged. There is a pattern mutation referred to as "speckled" or "granite" in which the body is covered with tiny dark speckles.

Average adult size: 30"-40"

Speckled Spotted Python
Distribution: The east coast of Queensland.

Comments: This is a great little python that thrives in captivity. It has been well-established in U.S collections for decades. They’re docile and fun to work with, and they are a great species for new python keepers to learn the basics of captive-breeding.
